Youth Courses
The Film and Video Workshop is an educational charity that specialises in teaching children and young people about animation and film. The number of young filmmakers who have worked with us now totals over 10,000 and many of the films produced have been seen at festivals and screenings locally and worldwide over the past 15 years. A few have won awards.
We hold regular workshops in schools across London and work with children of all ages. The young filmmakers are actively involved in all aspects of the production process from initial storyboard to creating their soundtracks. Each project can last several weeks and the young people are usually involved for a period of eight days over this time. All our staff are qualified media professionals, who enjoy working with young people and have extensive experience working in the education sector. They all hold full disclosures and have been trained in child protection, equal opportunities and workshop management. The culmination of the projects is often celebratory screening at a major London cinema where the children and invited guests get a chance to see their work on the big screen. All children also receive a DVD of their films to take home. Our projects in 2008/09 are funded by:

- First Light
- Camden CLC
