“Moving on”
The Film and Video Workshop and Shape, a disability-led arts organisation that facilitates ways to improve access to the arts for disable people, were granted funding to create “Moving on”
The project offered a fantastic opportunity to ten disabled young people from City and Islington College to create an animated film exploring the barriers and obstacles faced by disabled young people in the Transition from school education into further education or employment
“Moving on” provided a forum where young people from special education environments could express themselves to a wider audience.
The initiative was funded by Islington Council and screened at Platform Festival in July 2011 and it has now been nominated to the 2011 National Youth Disability Film Awards. The awards ceremony will take place the 5thof December in Cambridge.
