Stop Motion Animation Workshop

This extensive one-day workshop is led by BAFTA award winning Kevin Griffiths and provides all the technology and expertise to enable a class to pile-of-letterscreate their own animations.

We will provide 16 laptops and cameras so the students can work in pairs to create their unique films. Your class will learn how to use the equipment, storyboard their films, animate them and finally create a sound track – all in the same day.

The films will then be uploaded and available for the young people to watch online and share via their social networks. We will also give the school a DVD to use at a school screening.

We provide a range of resources that will enhance your teaching of literacy through working with animation. This includes ideas on how to read and discuss films as well as relating the children’s media literacy with their writing skills. Linked to the literacy strategy and developed with a range of schools, we are confident that the workshop will make a difference.

Our lead Tutor is Kevin Griffiths, BAFTA award winning animator and educator. All tutors are CRB checked and trained in child protection, equal opportunities and good classroom management. They are professional animators who are passionate about teaching and have at least five years experience working with children in school.
