ANIMATE YOUR IMAGINATION
An exciting celebration featuring young filmmakers work
Last Wednesday, 14th of May, at 10:30 am we had an animation celebration at the Odeon Holloway. We screened animations made by children from eight Special Schools across London. Funders of the project were be present as well as parents, teachers and the children involved.
The young filmmakers aged 12 to 17, were actively involved in all aspects of the film-making process. From originating the story-boards to creating the films soundtrack. Children wrote the stories, designed the characters, made the backgrounds and created the animations under the camera.
Every project was run over six weeks. The screening was the culmination of all the hard work the children put into creating their films.
Quirky, funny and off the wall the animated shorts featured are always entertaining.
The schools involved are: Woodside High, Latymer School, Acland Burghley, The Academy Edgware, The Compton Finchley, St Martins in the Fields, Hay Lane School and Grove Park School.
The number of young filmmakers that have worked with us now totals over 10000 and we are the largest producer of child and young people directed moving image work in the London. Each workshop takes two months to complete and can involve up to thirty kids.
The screening and the workshops were made possible by the generous funding of the Jack Petchey Foundation.
