14-19 Creative and Media Diploma - Animation
In partnership with Skillset we have developed two models for Work Related Learning that can be used in schools. These have been refined with the help of teachers and students working in Islington, Westminster, Tower Hamlets and Hackney
1. 10-week course providing a module of animation production led by professional
animators.
2. 1-day in-depth introduction to animation, covering careers and animation industry overview followed by practical session.
10-week course
* Currently can be used as a module within the GCSE Media Exam coursework
* Work with a group up to 15 students
* Provide all necessary industry standard equipment
* Provide practical hands on support to enable animation production
* Related theory
* Screening of films made by contemporary animation artists
* Work output to dvd and Utube

1-day course
In the morning - Industry talk; up to three leading practitioners talk to a large group of students, they describe their career path, their influence and show examples of their work (up to 250 students)
In the afternoon – practitioners work with a group of students to make a short piece of animation. Practical session where students can get to know the practitioners and really find out about their wok and career.

We are a training provider that helps young people use multimedia as a creative tool for communication. Our speciality is to provide a bridge between the film industry and education through a range of inspiring animation projects for learners at all levels.
By working with highly trained industry experts and broadcast standard equipment, young people have direct access to the latest techniques and technologies in Animation. Projects are often mobile and can be delivered in partnership with teachers in the classroom, or can be delivered at their dedicated in–house learning centre.
Every year, around 800 young people get to make films through the Film and Video Workshop initiative.
